Starter League

First we need to decide who will be playing which starter. Send me your list of top 3 starters in priority that you would like to play from 1 through 3. If no one picks your top choice you will be assigned that starter. If there are multiple people that want to play the same starter, some random mechanism will determine who gets it and we move down to your second choice. If there are multiple people for sharing your second choice or your second choice is taken by someone’s first choice we will repeat the random selection and move down to your number 3 choice.

To participate you need to have 1 starter and 4 packs from any set printed by White Wolf (Sabbat War through KMW).

If you do not want to or cannot buy a new starter and own the cards necessary to construct the starter, you may do so. Do not use Jyhad backed cards so cards can be interchangeable if lost to ante. You may not construct your own booster and must acquire 4 packs to participate

You may join even after we start. Available starters will then be assigned on a first come first serve basis.

Only 1 player in the league may play a particular starter (1 Gangrel 1 Gangrel Antitribute 1 Ventrue…).

Deck building follows standard limited rules 12 card crypt minimum 40-90 card Library. All cards not in your deck are in your ante pile.

Ante works in the following way:

  • Randomly pick out 2 library cards and 1 vampire card.
  • If there is a card that you do not want to lose you may replace that card with 2 other random cards of the same kind. (Library vs. crypt).
  • If you are ousted you give your ante cards to your predator.
  • If the game times out you do not lose your cards.
  • In-between games you may change your deck with your ante cards. You may ask what starter people are playing to prepare your deck. Be reasonable; do not take time right before the game to reconstruct your deck based on who is sitting down. This rule is here so you may add cards won into your deck or retool strategies.

Game time limit is 2 hours.

Determining who to play will be informal due to the near impossibility of scheduling people to play specific starters on specific days :) Keep these guidelines in mind:

  • League games must be 4-5 player games (no exceptions).
  • Try to get games in with starters/people you have not played with yet.
  • Be mindful of Predator/Prey relationships. If this means assigned seating so be it. If this causes more then 1 minute of bickering then just roll for seating.
  • League will start on March 7th and run 6 weeks ending on April 18th (sooner if interest falls)

The winner of each table must e-mail me the results in a timely fashion

Winner of the League will be determined (when the league officially ends) in a final game of the top 5 players.

Ranking will be determined like the current VEKN rating system. Only your best 5 games will be counted towards your "rating" Playing more will not hurt your standings, as poor performances will be negated by better performances.

You get 2 point for each gw

You get 1 points for each vp

You get .5 points for a ½ vp.

Have fun!!!
