True Love's Face: Boston Tournament Report

True Love's Face: Boston was a multideck tournament held on Saturday,
September 17 at Your Move Games.

We had 9 players.

David came back from California, just to teach us a lesson.  For 3
out of his 4 rounds (including the finals), he played a deck with a
crypt of entirely Huitzilopochtli.

Huitzilopochtli stands alone, but he's good enough!

Legal Manipulation + Sense the Sins for a bleed of 6. Try to keep all

bleeds at 0 stealth, using the ample "Block attempt fails" cards.

If playing against a deck that can't bounce, sometimes it's useful to

add a few stealth before making them fail so more wakes and intercept

cards are wasted. Use Spying Mission if your big honking bleed gets
bounced.

Golconda should be used to make your prey/predator pay to keep his
big vamps, remove a key untapped blocker, or bolster crippled
methuselahs. Or, if Huitz finds himself in torpor with noone feeling
nice enough to rescue him, Golconda him for a nice clean reboot.

I know there ain't much combat, so don't go blocking Enkidu. Getting
rushed sucks, so try to make yourself as un-scary to the rest of the
table as possible (try, "Stupid Infernal cost every turn..."). Your
prey will be unconvincable after an unblockable 6-bleed once or
twice. And never under-estimate the power of discarding an "extra"
Conflagration.

The Call the Great Beasts should be used as a mid- to late-game
reboot, or the possible Bleed, Freak Drive, then Call, Beast bleeds
for 7... Soul Gem is your friend here, since it will bring out a new
fresh Huitz for free (You DID put the fortitude skill card on him
first, right?)

Dummy Corporations work well with the Archon Investigation. Daring
your predator to bleed big to get past the Dummy Corp, then burning
them with the AI if they get too greedy.
