Create-A-Clan Tournament Report
Heya!
We had 10 players show up for the Create-A-Clan tournament:
Ben Peal - Blue Assamites (Aus For Qui)
Ben Swainbank - Mazzeri (Cel For Vic)
Scott Gomes - Followers of Scott (Obt Ser Vic)
Josh Feuerstein - World Wrestling Entertainment (For Pot Pre)
Ed McGlynn - Insane Clown Posse (Dem For Nec)
D.J. Chagnon - Aztecs (Pot Pre Pro)
Matt Hirsch - Clan Yablonski (Dem For Pro)
Jonathan Mason - Hair Club For Men (Dom For Obf)
Jenn McMahon - The Muppet Show (Aus Obt Pre)
Brian Bourke - Sesame Street (Ani Dom For)
Best Art: D.J. Chagnon
Best Theme: Matt Hirsch
Most Successful Clan That Didn't Use Dominate: Jenn McMahon
Winning Clan: Hair Club For Men (Jonathan Mason)
So, yeah, we had this whole tournament just so we could find out that
Obfuscate and Dominate are a winning combo. ;) It also looks like
one of the awards should be changed next time to "Most Successful Clan
That Didn't Use Fortitude". :)
Argh...Scott Gomes has the Archon form...I'll get the final standings
posted later.
9 of the 10 players had photoshopped cards. We're still missing
Jenn's and D.J.'s, but Matt Hirsch put together a site with 7 of
the 10 clans:
http://www.darkwindrising.com/vampire/cac1/cac1.asp
All in all, the event was deemed a great success. Everyone had a
ton of fun, there was much laughter abound, and I was told repeatedly
to run another one of these. I'm looking at April 1 for the next
one. Is there any interest for this at Origins, GenCon, or DragonCon?
Personal highlights included burning two vampires with Eruption of
Vitae, and being involved in a game in the first round where 6
vampires were burned:
- Trish Stratus (burned by a combination of Potence + Claws)
- Tonya the Ruler (of the Followers of Scott, diablerized by Spike Dudley)
- Spike Dudley (burned via bloodhunt for dialberizing Tonya the Ruler)
- Kermit (nuked by Eruption of Vitae)
- Mahmoud Yassine (Blue Assamite, burned by Torn Signpost, Fists of Death,
Increased Strength, Undead Strength, and Bone Spur from Yaotl of the
Aztecs, despite Disease and two damage prevention cards)
- The Big Show (Pushing the Limit + Bone Spur)
Many thanks to LSJ, Josh Duffin, Ben Spaulding, and the Boston crew
for helping hammer out the rules! Thanks to Matt for putting the
site together! Thanks to everyone who attended for a hilarious time!
- Ben Peal, Prince of Boston
