Detection: Boston Tournament Report

Heya!

Alas, we only had 6 players this past Saturday, but we played anyway!

Josh Feuerstein - Cel-Chi weapon combat
  Jenn McMahon - Settite stealth-bleed
  Ben Peal - Assamite-Salubri toolbox
  Matt Hirsch - jello-shot-fueled Malk-Settite-Trujah toolbox
  Jonathan Mason - Proteolicious
Kevin Scribner - Lambach Smiling Jack wall

  Round One

  Josh -> Jenn -> Ben -> Matt

I'm in the driver's seat early, as I get out Matthias and Jenn is
playing Settites. I do the build-up thing that my deck does, while
Matt starts chewing up Josh. At one point, Josh torporized Matt's
Samat Ramal-Ra, who was subsequently eaten by Tariq. Eventually I
get around to bleeding Matt, and get cocky and get him down to 1.
Matt almost bleeds out Josh, but I use an Eagle's sight to block
the last bleed action. Then Jenn pulls two Aires of Elation and a
Legal Manipulations and ousts me. Matt finishes off Josh, and is
  then stomped by Jenn.

  Jenn 3, Matt 1

  Round Two

  Matt -> Jonathan -> Ben -> Kevin

Persistent Telepathic Counters help me fend off the Proteolicious
onslaught. Matthias and Wakes help continue to fend off Jonathan
while I get some weapons for Matthias and Tariq. Matt drives
Kevin nuts with Krasimir's ability, though Kevin still manages to
catch a couple of minions and torporizes them. I annoy Kevin by
rescuing Matt's minions. Minion Tap + Renewed Vigor on Bajazet
helps fend off Jonathan some more, and I manage to get out Blanche
Hill, as well. Kevin transfers himself rather low to get out
another minion, but then has his untap ability overloaded by
Krasimir actions and Telepathically Misdirected bleeds. I manage
to squeak out the oust of Kevin, and Matt is soon to follow. Time
runs out before I oust Jonathan.

  Ben 2.5, Jonathan 0.5

  Round Three

  Kevin -> Josh -> Jonathan -> Jenn

Kevin makes himself an enemy of the table by finally playing a
Smiling Jack, as well as mauling Josh's minions. Jonathan rescues
Josh's minions, while Jenn puts the stealth-bleed hurt on Kevin.
Eventually Meshenka (?) is torporized by a Dragon's Breath rounds.
He later tries to self-rescue, but Josh sacrifices a vampire for
the block and diablerie. Mortally wounded, Kevin is ousted by
Jenn. Likewise mortally wounded, Josh is ousted by Jenn. However,
Jonathan has had the time to build up Proteolicious swarm, and
  ousts Jenn.

  Jenn 2, Jonathan 2

Kevin chooses to bail during the coin flip, putting Josh in the
finals. Standings going into the finals:

Jenn McMahon 1 GW, 5 VP
Ben Peal 1 GW, 2.5 VP
Jonathan Mason	0 GW, 2.5 VP
Matt Hirsch 0 GW, 1 VP
Josh Feuerstein	0 GW, 0 VP
Kevin Scribner	0 GW, 0 VP (drop)

  The Finals

  Jonathan -> Matt -> Ben -> Josh -> Jen

I get annoyed by Matt's persistent bleed attempts in the face
of the developing Proteolicious swarm. Matt mocks me by fending
off the Proteolicious swarm. As I'm unable to put pressure on
Josh, he develops a weenie swarm of his own, and slowly chips
away at Jenn. However, Jenn starts dropping bleed bombs on
Jonathan, making him nervous. Jonathan finally starts getting
bleeds through on Matt. Matt finally takes pressure off of me,
and after finally getting my Salubri and Assamites built up with
permanents, I start bleeding Josh. Jenn runs out of bleed, and
starts fending off Josh. Jonathan keeps up the bleed pressure
on Matt. Josh is one bleed mod shy of ousting Jenn. Jenn is
one bleed mod shy of ousting Jonathan. Jonathan ousts Matt.
I oust Josh. I oust Jenn. Time runs out before I can oust
  Jonathan.

  Ben 2.5, Jonathan 1.5

  The Deck

So, like, the deck I published in my Salubri Newsletter really
blows. I brought it back into the shop for an overhaul. It
takes advantage of the Assamites OBF for Cloak the Gathering
to support the Obeah actions of the Salubri, as well as Tariq's
AUS/FOR and other Aus and For amongst Assamites. It has a
build-up period where it equips and employs a lot, and then
finally gets going against its prey.
